Job Description

  • Collects manage, analyzes, and reports on cancer/tumor incidence data.
  • Oncology expert-level knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Identifies, analyzes and interprets the history, diagnosis, treatment, and disease status and survival data of cancer patients treated in the organization.
  • Prepares statistical reports on mortality rates, treatment effects, incidence rates of various diagnostic categories and demographic variables.
  • Contributes information to the Cancer Committee for the purpose of developing criteria for patient care evaluation, collecting data for protocol studies, and conducting audits.
  • Excellent Communication.
  •  Respect the privacy of data and information.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Job Specification:

Qualifications
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HIM or Nursing required. A mixture of appropriate education and experience may be substituted.

Domain Knowledge:

• MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY: Analyzes the basic structure of medical words.
• HUMAN ANATOMY: Recognizes the various parts of the human body and its functions.
• HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (HIM) SYSTEMS: Demonstrates knowledge of HIM systems applications.
